Last week the National Portrait Gallery opened its doors to its latest exhibition; 'Vogue 100: A Century of Style'. Showcasing over 280 prints from the Vogue archives, the exhibition tells the story of British Vogue through the remarkable range of photography that has been commissioned by the publication since it was launched in 1916.

My own story of British Vogue started as a 16 year old, I could never have afforded anything that adorned the pages but the design, the features and the photography opened up a new world for me and set my creativity free. From picking up my first copy of the fashion bible, I was soon hooked and I've had an annual subscription ever since. The stack of Vogue's that were once stored in my teenage bedroom, are now piled high in my studio and to this day I still get excited, inspired and lost in the pages.
